The Problem
When Sara Stapleton from Broken Arrow Red Angus reached out, the ranch didn’t have a website.
Like many ranches, they were relying on word of mouth and the traditional route of hauling cattle to the sale barn. That worked, but it also limited how many people could see their cattle and how efficiently they could sell.
They wanted a better way.
Instead of relying solely on in-person sales and existing connections, they needed a way for buyers to find them online, view their cattle, and reach out directly. They also wanted an easier way to share photos and EPD information without sending everything manually.
At its core, the problem was visibility and access.
If buyers couldn’t easily find them or see what was available, opportunities were being missed.
The Plan
We approached this cattle ranch website project with one clear goal: make it easy for the right buyers to find, evaluate, and inquire about their cattle.
The ranch needed a website that’s easy to find through SEO and easy to use once buyers land on it, so nothing gets in the way of a sale (SEO and a great user experience (UX) matter so much!)
We focused on creating a website where:
- Buyers can quickly see what cattle are available
- Sold cattle are clearly marked to avoid confusion
- Photos and EPD information are easy to view and compare
- Contact information is easy to find for scheduling visits
From a technical side, we built a strong SEO and AEO foundation so Broken Arrow Red Angus could show up in Google searches when buyers are actively looking for bulls or heifers.
We also added dedicated gallery pages for bulls and heifers, including a flexible “heifers for sale” page that could be turned on or off depending on availability. That flexibility mattered. In ranching, inventory changes. The website needed to adapt just as easily.
The Transformation
Now, Broken Arrow Red Angus has a website that works alongside their operation. They’re no longer limited to word of mouth or sale barns to get their cattle in front of buyers. Ranchers searching online can now find them, view available cattle, and reach out directly.
Day to day, that looks like:
- More visibility through Google search
- Easier communication with potential buyers
- A central place to showcase cattle with photos and details
- Less back-and-forth sending information manually
Instead of chasing buyers, the website helps bring the right buyers to them.
THE RESULTS OF THE WEBSITE
$49,000 in Ten Days Because of Great SEO
The impact of this website was immediate and measurable.
One simple feature, a “heifers for sale” page, ended up generating $49,000 in 10 days all because of one rancher finding their website on Google.
Sara originally requested the page as a “just in case” option. Something they could turn on when they had heifers available and turn off when they didn’t.
When they did have heifers to sell, they activated the page and added their listings. About a week later, they had sold the remaining cattle.
When they asked the buyer how he found Broken Arrow Red Angus, he said found them through a Google search.
That one page:
- Increased visibility beyond their existing network
- Attracted a qualified buyer who already trusted their cattle
- Eliminated the need to haul those cattle to the sale barn
- Generated $49,000 in revenue in a matter of days
That’s the difference between simply having a website and having one that’s built to work.
Client Feedback
Sara Stapleton shared:
“Remember when we created the heifers for sale page just in case? That page made us $49,000 this year in less than 10 days. A customer found us from a Google search. The ROI from this website just from that one page has been extremely profitable.”
She also shared how smooth the process felt from start to finish:
“Sara at Motes Design was amazing to work with. She asked thoughtful questions, gave clear instructions, and made the entire process enjoyable. We’re beyond excited to introduce the new site to our buyers.”
